Welcome to the 2DGamers web site and Gee Geekers' Unanticipated Adventures! This game was written for those of us who enjoy old school games or may be looking for something a little different than the usual offerings. This game will only run on FreeBSD and Linux systems with SDL installed.
Introduction:
You are Gee Geekers, Adventurer. You have agreed to help the King free his kingdom from the clutches of his long time rival, Sir Foul Blu. Blu has stolen the King's sceptre and locked his people away. Only you can help!
Gameplay:
This is a 2D adventure platformer with many ways to finish each level. It was inspired by the platform games of the past, but we wanted a game with less restriction; one that offered more freedom to explore and numerous ways to complete.
Gee Geekers allows multiple styles of play and is designed to be non-linear. Most levels have three separate portals to exit and a different path through more than 100 levels can be chosen each time you play. Almost every challenge has multiple solutions.
For example in this case, to get past this monster, will you:
Use a bomb?
Use gas?
Disintegrate a hole for him to fall through?
Create a girder and trap him?
Maybe throw him off course into harms way?
How about go under?
Can you make it?

You will need SDL (any version) and SDL Mixer (any version) installed to run this game. The slowest computer it has been tested on is a 1.5 GHz AMD Athlon FreeBSD system with 512 MB RAM, but it may work on computers with less horsepower. To install, gunzip and tar extract the file into the directory of your choice (extracts to about 30 MB in size). Open a shell, cd into the directory you extracted the files into and type ./geegeekers. To run in a window type ./geegeekers -w.

The full version includes:
1) The ability to continue your game between sessions.
2) The in game level editor that can be used to create completely new levels or change the ones originally packaged with the game.
3) All levels to finish the game.
